Things to Consider When Planning a Wedding

Even if you hired a wedding planner to help you with your wedding, it doesn’t mean that you have to let her do all the coordinating. In fact, it is you who should have the first say on your wedding. It is always good to plan ahead what ring design you’ll both be wearing. But it’s even better if you consider other things such as food, drinks, and venue. Here are some essential things you need to take into account when planning for your wedding.

1. Food Menu

Guests come to an event to celebrate a joyful moment. Most will anticipate the celebration by attending with an empty stomach. And it’s understandable. People need to be fed and nourished.

When planning for your food menu, consider all the things that you love to it as a couple. It is important to consider the guest when planning about the food. But remember that it is your wedding they are attending. Serve food that represents you as a couple.

2. Drinks Menu

Just like the food menu, consider serving drinks that you both love to have as well. It’s a given that wine and/or champagne will be served. Don’t forget the guests. They’ll need good if not great drinks for that will complement their food. If you have guests who don’t drink alcohol, don’t just serve juice or plain old water, give them the better choice by offering the sparkling versions.

3. Dietary Restrictions or Requirements

Meat lovers, seafood lovers, vegetarians, and vegans can all gather in your wedding day. When making your guest list or sending invitations, know if they have dietary requirements or restrictions. You also need to know if you have guests attending who cannot tolerate dairy, gluten, and others.

4. Weather

If you want your wedding to take place outside, consider checking the weather weeks before the big day. Watch out for storms, heavy rains, or bad weather coming and make a back-up plan ahead like a back-up venue. If you want to be extra sure, have some umbrellas lying around just to be safe.

5. Venue

Again, consider you and your partner’s preferences. It is your wedding therefore you should make it exactly the way you want it to be. And this includes the venue and decorations. Whether indoor or outdoor, the venue should obviously be able to hold the number of guests in your guest list. They shouldn’t be stuffed together and instead should have a room to move and feel comfortable until the last part of the wedding program. Don’t sacrifice their space just because you have a lot of guests attending.

6. Venue Rules

This one is particularly important as well. If you are hiring a venue for the wedding, reception, or both, you have to know when you or your team will be able to set up and until what time. How long can you or even the decors stay? Know their rules and regulations at the first chance.
